Our family have officially fallen in love with Smokey Mountains! There is something about the mountain air what I find healing and imaginably peaceful. Even Pigeon Forge gets crowded with tourists in summertime there is enough room for everyone to enjoy themselves. Funny enough we are not very outdoorsy people we like our AC and comfort, and you will not see us hiking up the mountain trails, we leave those for the bears.
The greatest thing about Pigeon Forge that is has something for everyone. There is plenty of mountain tours, scenery rides, hiking opportunities, waterfalls, river rafting, zip lining if you are an outdoorsy person. We however love to eat some good food while enjoying the magnificent views in airconditioned log cabin, experiencing all the great dinner shows, museums, attractions, stores and any amenities what do not require to be out in summer heat or walk for miles. To each its own if you enjoy the sweaty hikes, you do you!
Let me share some of our favorites so far, once again opinion is an opinion so just because we loved it doesn’t matter you will, but you never know until you try!
Our Favorite Restaurants
Local Goat – I like to do my research before I pick restaurant or attraction. Local Goat seemed a winer overall from reviews even it did get some mixed reviews calling it a tourist trap and very average. Well guess what?! We were tourists and fell in the trap beautifully because that is definitely our favorite spot to eat in Pigeon Forge. We went there twice and were happy with food and service both times. Portions are huge and quality of the food was outstanding. My husband is a former fine dining executive chef, and he absolutely love the food.
Sunliner Diner – that is a experience to remember! Definitely feels like you step into time machine once you step through the door. Decor is fantastic, server outfits, menu everything takes you back to 50-60s and food was great. Cant’s say that it’s the best breakfast food I ever had, but kids definitely had the best milkshakes ever made and overall experience is fantastic.
